Explanations on Sound Composition

The composition WALSERWALD consists of 78 sheets that I wrote with my left hand in real time and without corrections from December 2020 to May 2021. Each sheet is a musical exercise on a few words or a line by Robert Walser (quoted from Robert Walser’s Wälder, edited by Sabine Eickenrodt and Erhard Schütz, Insel-Bücherei 1477, 2019). During an outdoor performance, the leaves are pinned to trees, for example, and the musicians wander around freely. The instrumental and vocal actions sound against the background of a slowly developing piano sound.

In memory of Ladislav Kupkovič (17.03.1936 – 15.06.2016), the inventor of the Wandelkonzert. World premiere on 18 September 2021 on a literary-musical walk from Teufen to Trogen.

The composition WALSERWALD can be downloaded here free of charge as a PDF with explanations on interpretation and performance.
