Graphical Sound Compositions

Drawings and other image-like specifications play an important role for me in the approach to an invention of music since the 1990s.
Since 2016, I write EINTAGSFLIEDER, compositions for different ensembles, each written down on a single sheet of paper on a single day.
In 2018, on behalf of the Festival Rümlingen (CH) I created WALSERWALD, 56 sheets of a musical discussion with Robert Walser.

BLACK // WHITE was written from January 1st, 2023 to December 31st, 2023. I wrote and drew X sheets of paper that can be read as scores for XI pieces. Almost all of these structures were created in a performance-like musical act with often a lot of exaggeration: with the left or right hand, with both hands, as a blind drawing, high or low energy, rhythmic, sounding, spontaneously calculating, pulling the page away from the pen under the tip. The musicality that is inscribed in the sheets needs to be released in a performance. For this purpose, legends I to XI make suggestions for realizations from solo to ensemble.
